Please wear ritual garb that is comfortable for movement.
Finger foods to share after the ritual are welcomed.

Join Trillium Reclaiming as we gather to honor and greet our ancestors, to reflect on where we've been and where we're going and to celebrate new beginnings.

Feel free to bring something to add to the alters -- we will have an alter for our ancestors, one for our beloved babies and one for Trillium's history.

We will be dancing a Spiral Dance and reading the names of our beloved dead. Names you wish to be read should be brought to ritual and given to 'Matt'.

You're welcome to bring finger foods & treats to share for post ritual fellowship. Donations gratefully accepted.

Gaia Garden Update

Corn, Peas, Beans, Radishes, Cilantro, Broccoli, Nasturtium, Beets, Pumpkins, Wind Flowers, Yarrow, Lettuce...
ARE ALL UP AND DOING FINE!

I installed the pea fence last week and yesterday the gate caribiners magickally appeared, though I think it was the Faeri named Bakiti. ;)

The garden has also had two other Trill visitors this weekend.

What magickal thing will YOU do in the garden? Want to share or make it a surprise for the next Trill who visits? (Hint: There's grass encroaching on the garden that needs to be pulled. We'll need another tomato cage soon. Toning and singing, Compost turning, Weed pulling for the more experienced gardener, Watering, Watering with compost tea, Adding mulch...)

Also please remember, I will be out of town soon for the birth of my grandchild (dates asap) and the garden will NEED watering and tending. Our Garden will need each of you to step up to be in contact with Gaia and tend to our/her growing children. Come out in groups or one at a time as you wish, but please, always post what you've done and what you believe is yet to be done.

Coffee Hour Update

Trillium's Monthly Coffee Hour is a continued success. Curious folk have found it a welcoming way to meet Trillium members, ask questions and socialise with friends.

Recently at Coffee Hours we:

held a Pet Food Drive for the Michigan Humane Society
"Knit in Public" - great fun for experts and beginners alike
held a Used Book Exchange for each other and random passers by! All orphaned books were donated to a local public library.

And, each Fall we hold a "Ritual and daily practice supply drive" and send these packages to deployed Military Pagans. The boxes are packed at Coffee Hour.

Note: This church, as many Presbyterian churches, is very mission driven to better humanity's connection to the divine, accessing spirit through a variety of means. Their call to social action and belief that neither sexual preference nor gender identification have ANY bearing on faith, is to me a remarkable statement for a church to make publicly. This from their site: Built about ten years ago, the outdoor labyrinth is not only the site of occasional worship services for our congregation, but allows individuals, both church members and those from the wider community, to explore and deepen their spiritual lives in their own way.

Which is not to say that they are accepting, or not, of our path.

THEREFORE...

THIS WILL BE A "GUERILLA MAGICK" RITUAL!

We will meet at the location ON TIME at the north side parking lot. Do not worry about ritual roles or the usual details. Together we will each cast our own personal "bubble", in which you will be doing a labyrinth-walking meditation.

Bits: This is an outdoor labyrinth on grass. We apologize, but it is not terribly handicap accessible. We will walk RAIN or SHINE. Bring: umbrella/sweater/sunscreen/mukluks if it's needed.

*For this ritual we ask that you hold silence.
*A labyrinth has only one path in/out. When you encounter someone on the path, labyrinth etiquette says: "step aside, let them pass, resume your walk".
*We ask that you review the section below well. Print and bring it if you wish.
*The labyrinth is outdoors on grass - wear comfortable flat shoes, or none if you choose.
*No RSVP's are required, but please bring your whole magickal self, ready to do the work!
*Chatty bits afterwards. We'll figure out a nearby coffee shop and share the info there.

Ritual Intention:
At Lammas, we anticipate joyful reaping, and acknowledge the realities of our harvest with an open heart.

*You may spend time in the center. There is room for a couple of people. Walk more than once as you reflect each role, or as you wish.

Reminder of the Story Arch: We continue with our mythic tale as Beauty is leaving her family celebration held at the height of the Sun. She has spent a glorious visit in the warm and joyful glow of her family. Beauty now travels through the ripening fields and the lush woods toward her chosen castle, to the waiting Beast to whom she promised to return before the end of summer. She journeys with the shifting balances of Light & Shadow, with a heart full of Love and Hope. She moves from one Community rich with Light through Solitude to another Community waiting for shining Light of Beauty... not knowing what she will find, anticipating a near future harvest as yet undecided.

Guidance for your walking meditation:
Walking in from the edge as the Beast is a journey from Faith and Trust, spiraling into doubt/mistrust.
He has faith in Beauty, in his feelings, in her return.
The year is turning. The wheat is getting dry. So too do his feeling grow more brittle, breaking into doubt more readily, little cracks of mistrust grow and develop into gaps of time and skepticism.

The Beast at the center:
Did he make the right choice to trust in her? When/how do you choose to trust?
Has she left, never to return? Is failed trust in another, failed trust in ourselves?
Will he be able to trust his own judgement again? How do you establish trust in yourself?
Will he lose his humanity to his anger and frustration? Do you?

Walking out we think of how we can be centered in ourselves, re-establish trust and openness.
Shake off the negative, emerge stronger. How do you care for yourself even in your darker moments?
Can loving one's self include forgiveness and growth? Through it, do you leave yourself open to mystery?

Walking in as Beauty, an inward journey of choice and paradox. Not negative, but she did promise!
Will she see her family again? Do you resist change because you fear? What do you fear?
She thinks about the trust placed in her, to return to the castle/to her family. Can you be trusted not to lose yourself in change?
She sees sheaves of wheat being cut and thinks of its separation from earth, grounding mother, and feels that she too has been separated from something meaningful. How do you feel about that which you willingly leave?

The Center culminates Beauty's choice and paradox.
She chooses from her heart, a place of self and growth, to go to the castle. When you choose to leave something behind, in what way do you grow? How does that feel to you? How do you feel about the new path before you? Is this a paradox for you? How does it feel to hold it?

Walking out is Beauty's journey inward realizing her motivation is not obligation, but love and growth, to herself and her future. How do you embody your choices? How do you embody your paradoxes? Do you choose to move forward and leave fear and doubt behind?

Pearl Pentacle Class Offered

Post-Beltaine Post

Beltaine was a wonderful ritual, even with a visit from the trickster who thought it fun to have the elements downpour during the devocation! Thank you to all who responded and attended.

One thing we neglected to do at this ritual was to ask for donations in order to fund the on-going work and educational experiences to which Trillium has committed.

If you would be willing to set aside a few dollars to support this community, we all, through classes and ritual experiences, will share in its bounty. A collection bin will be available at the next Coffee Hour, May 12th.
